PlayCore has immediate openings for 2nd Shift Welder’s at Dero/National Recreation Systems located in Lakeland, Florida. Dero designs innovative, high-quality, and functional bicycling infrastructure that people rely on every day: bike racks, bicycle storage, public bike repair, and street design amenities. Real-world insight from the bike-centric lives of their employees influences all aspects of design. Dero takes pride in their American-made craftsmanship, sustainable practices, excellent customer service, and expertise.

Responsibilities to include:

· Laying out, positioning, and securing parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers and ruler.

· Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using MIG Welding equipment.

· Cuts work piece, using powered saws and cutting torch.

· Observes welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.

· Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.

· Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

· Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.

· Ignites torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.

· Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.

· Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must have fabricator experience producing decorative/ornamental work

· A broad knowledge of welding. This higher-level welder position will require years of formal education in vocational or technical schools or colleges.

Candidate must also be able to:

· Possess a strong work ethic

· Ability to follow directions and work independently

· Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work overtime as required
