Metal Shop Shipper/Receiver

Are you a Shipper/Receiver with experience working in a Metal Shop/Manufacturing Industry? Are you extremely organized, pay close attention to detail and safety, and are a problem solver?

Role &Responsibilities:

Shipping:

· Assemble containers and crates, and pack goods to be shipped.

· Secure parts and skids onto truck for safe transporting.

· Inspect and verify outgoing goods against packing slips.

· Maintain log of outgoing goods.

Receiving:

· Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.

· Maintain log of incoming supplies, materials, and equipment.

· Unpack and route incoming goods to appropriate storage areas.

General:

· Operate forklift, crane, or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.

· Know safe storage and handling procedures for various metals, plastics, chemicals and materials.

· Maintain the list and monitor inventory of skids, boxes, packaging and other consumable materials and request their replenishment in timely manner.

· Maintain indoor and outdoor storage facility and shop storage areas in a safe, clean and orderly manner (including removing snow).

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Mechanical/Technical understanding
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications (Word, Excel, Google Docs)
  • Ability to multi-task and take full ownership of work area
  • Requires little supervision but enjoys working in a team environment

Experience:

  • shipper/receiver: 3 years (Required)

Licence:

  • Forklift (Preferred)
  • JHSC certification part 1 and 2 (Preferred)

Language:

Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently throughout the workday

· Must be able to stand and to work with hands for extended periods

· Must have good spatial awareness and hand eye coordination

· Must be able to reach supplies located on 6 ft. shelves

· Must have very good attendance and safety record

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
