JOB SUMMARY:
To perform all kinds of spot welding using resistance welders/machines.
To join aluminum material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
Cleans and prepares surfaces to be spot welded. Sets up, assembles, and spot weld materials.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Support production schedule by safely performing work efficiently.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of adhesives and templates.
Spot weld pull testing and to maintain test logs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of formal apprenticeship program or completion of in-company training program.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent in the field or in a related area.
Requires 1-2 years work experience in the field or a related area.
Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
Work may involve considerable stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures. Requires the wearing of personal protective equipment.
Manual dexterity skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds infrequently.
