Shop Manager – Full Time

Alpha Design is a locally owned business seeking an ambitious career-oriented individual to join their team in Merritt, BC. We are looking for a self-motivated team player; capable of managing multiple priorities and working independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set performance goals and project deadlines that align with the company’s larger plans
  • Delegate work to employees, track progress and provide constructive feedback throughout projects
  • Address problems with work quality, issues between employees and other concerns in an effective, timely manner
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job
  • Maintain open lines of communication between employees, management and executives
  • Motivate team members and create strategies to boost productivity
  • Take the initiative to increase our production stats while reducing our total cost outlay
  • Implement new strategies to benefit the business
  • Inspiring employees to own their work and deliver better results
  • Willing and able to train and develop employees in their respective roles/skills
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Great organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Energetic and highly motivated
  • Capacity to clearly give direction
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary
  • Must be safety conscious and able to adhere to Alpha Design safety practices
  • Experience in the following trades an asset: welding, fabricating, machining
