Welding Associate – TIG on Aluminum 1st Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

Welding Associate, also known as Welders, uses welding equipment and tool in manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production welding process. Performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of production processes and responsible for day to day operations with the welding production.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Welding Associate will directly report to the Roto Molding Supervisor.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Study and interpret blueprint schematics and assembly instructions
  • Weld metal pieces together utilizing MIG, TIG, Stick and/or Flux Core welding practices
  • Clean, grind, cut, smooth both metal sections as prep for finishing
  • Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions
  • Utilize bracing and measurement tools such as calipers, squares, and straightedges to lay out and assemble metal parts for welding
  • Evaluate workpieces to ensure they are free of defect and conform to set specifications
  • Grind, heat-bend and bolt metal components together to achieve required configuration
  • Use cutting torches and straightening presses to repair metal structures or assemblies
  • Design and implement product stress tests
  • Develop and assess prototype concepts
  • Assemble tools and materials
  • Assess measurements and specifications
  • Conduct preventative maintenance of welding equipment and tools
  • Ability to alter dimensions to fit specifications
  • Resolve assembly and production issues
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Welding Experience
  • Stand or walk up to 8 hours
  • Bend and twist neck and waist 3 – 6 hours
  • Grasp with hands up to 6 hours
  • Fine manipulation up to 3 hours
  • Reaching and pulling up to 3 hours
  • Lifting to 10 pounds up to 8 hours
  • Lifting to 25 pounds up to 3 hours
  • Ability to work around machinery and will be exposed to dust
  • Team player with organizational skills
  • Ability to lift or move products up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to interact with internal and external counterparts
  • Basic Mathematic Skills
  • Manual Dexterity and ability to perform repetitive activity for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA forklift and motored equipment compliance
  • Adequate knowledge of warehouse data systems
  • Fulfillment center experience
  • Hand tool experience


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 Years of TIG on Aluminum Welding Experience
  • Experience operating a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
