We are currently recruiting an Apprentice or Journeyman Welder for our Nisku, AB Shop. **Please note, the candidate has to have a class S classification and will need to pass a CWB weld test **

Compensation & Benefits

$23 – $39 per hour depending on level of apprenticeship or JM status

Read and interpret blueprints

Stick Welding (SMAW), Mig welding (GMAW), and Oxy-Acetelyne Cutting

Custom Fabrication

Tower Crane fabrication and repairs

Structural Welding

Indoor/outdoor welding

Working Conditions

Hours are 6:30 am to 3:45 pm Monday to Friday plus overtime and work on weekends as required.

½ hour unpaid lunch break per day, one 15 minute break.

Exposure to cold/hot weather. Combination of inside and outside work.

Appropriate dress required for weather conditions.

Exposure to noise, dust, pollution.

Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, trips, falls, falling objects, sharp hand tools.

Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.

Physically fit with good manual dexterity.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Will need to have their own welding mask, steel toe boots, leather sleeves, had hat that is compatible with a welding helmet and safety glasses.


Ability to solve arithmetic problems quickly and accurately.

Abel to work alone or in a team environment.

Positive attitude towards safety.

Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions.

Punctual and reliable.

Willingness to learn.
