Summary Statement

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the position performs a variety of cutting and auto welding functions. These duties include but are not limited to transporting rolls of fabric, cutting material according to specification sheets, loading and unloading fabric onto the cutting table as well as auto-seaming filter bags utilizing an auto-welder. The remaining points are inserted under the duties and responsibilities section.

Qualifications:

Education Essential:

Ø High School Diploma

Knowledge Essential:

Ø 6 months experience with a cutting knife and operating machinery

Ø 3-6 months experience in a related field

Skills and Abilities Essential:

Ø Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team

Ø Problem solving skills in order to resolve conflicts and problems

Ø Detailed oriented and excellent organizational concentration and accuracy skills

Ø Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines

Ø Health and Safety conscious to minimize risk of injury from equipment

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Transports rolls of fabric from the floor to the cutting table using required lifting devices.
  • Maps out patterns for the filter bags on the material as per specification requirements.
  • Cuts material according to specification sheets.
  • Loads and unloads fabric on and off the cutting table using the required lifting system.
  • Produces work in accordance to pre-established priorities of customer projects as delegated by the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensures all pieces of the filter bags are placed neatly together to ensure the pieces do not go missing.
  • Ensures that there is little waste when cutting the fabric and discards the waste under the cutting table for use on other projects.
  • Review customer order to ensure correct amount of material is available and ready for use for auto seaming order.
  • Responsible for feeding material through roller bars, adjusting proper fittings, setting heat and speed functions accurately and feeding the order through the seamer.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards
  • Maintains client and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
  • 12. Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
  • 13. Set-up and organize individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness at all times.

Salary: From $17.00 per hour
