Overview
Midwest Fabricators Ltd. provides custom metal fabrication, laser and plasma cutting, and welding services for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. We are proud members of the Canadian Welding Bureau, Manufacturer’s Health and Safety Association, Edmonton Construction Association, and West Edmonton Business Association. The successful candidate for this job must have hands-on experience working in a custom fabrication shop and possess the qualifications listed below.
Requirements:
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret blueprints/schematics to perform accurate set-ups
- Must be physically fit; able to safely load/unload tooling, set up equipment and handle larger pieces with the aid of a crane and/or co-worker. We work with material ranging from light gauge to heavy plate (1” +), some pieces can be very heavy.
- Must be able to set up and operate Brake Press and Shear to form/cut various materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) according to work order specifications.
Skills:
- 3-5 years experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Work well under supervision
- Willingness to cross-train and learn to operate, or experience operating a CNC Plasma cutter is an asset
- Experience with Rolling an asset, but optional
