Overview

The CNC Coordinator is responsible for the operation of all CNC Equipment which includes: production, quality control, safety and maintenance.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentoring apprentices
  • Provides leadership to all machine operators
  • Works closely with production team to increase productivity and profitability
  • Manage required resources including materials, manpower and equipment to manufacture quality products
  • Is aware and follows Quality Control procedures
  • Works closely with quality personnel to review product consistency
  • Works closely with other shop management to ensure product is made correctly and on time
  • Review established production schedules and established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
  • Produce CNC drawings and toolpaths using company software
  • Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and make necessary repairs when able
  • Schedule down time for maintenance
  • Continuously improve existing processes
  • Other duties as required
  • Follow safe job practices and procedures

SKILLS AND QUALIFICTIONS

  • Team Coordination – They direct machine operators activities based on work loads and deliveries, they are effective coordinators, leaders and schedulers.
  • Specifications and Materials – Required to examine specification sheets and other production documents, ensuring work is completed according to specifications.
  • Machine Operations – Capable of operating CNC equipment in order to train new hires, work on the manufacturing floor to ensure deadlines are met as well as capable of troubleshooting equipment.
  • Safety Monitoring – Familiar with workplace safety procedures and best practices to prevent employee injuries and maintain the overall safety from day to day.
  • Efficiency Enhancement – Constantly seeking ways to enhance processes and procedures without sacrificing safety.
  • Communication Skills – Effectively written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to Detail – Able to analyze complex projects, identify inefficiencies and coordinate staff and equipment resources to meet client expectations and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Organizational Skills – Able to schedule multiple projects at one time to ensure that over booking, or delayed product delivery never happens.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Strong listening skills when communicating with workers, customers and suppliers. This includes the ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts and hear complaints without becoming defensive.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years experience with CNC equipment

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge with StruM.I.S programming an asset
  • Computer knowledge
  • Capable of reading and interpreting blue prints with close tolerances
  • Experienced in CNC operations
  • Design and application experience in programming, setting up and running CNC equipment
  • Knowledge of Shop Data Program would be an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
