Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Cell Team Lead, the Panel Assembler / Fabricator will work independently or as part of a team to product quality parts in a safe and timely manner. The successful candidate will be required to possess a hands-on, proactive approach, positive attituded and passion to exceed all quality and quantity specifications.

Requirements:

  • Dimensionally lay out back panels and externally mounted devices.
  • Dimensionally layout and fabricate enclosure inner door kits and mounting hardware.
  • Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using a variety of fastening methods.
  • Assemble, install, and test various components to applicable drawings.
  • Read and interpret advanced engineering drawings/schematics to build configurated panels, engineered panels, and assemblies as specified with minimal supervision.
  • Picking and Kitting of components and parts for multiple projects.
  • Operate a wide variety of fabricating machinery as part of the manufacturing process including sheer, drill, band saw, iron worker, press brake, grinder, sander, rivet guns, Pemsertter.
  • Responsible for first off, in process inspection and final part verification including dimensional, part features (using GD &T), surface finishes to drawing specifications using shop measurement tools (verniers calipers, micrometers, tape measure, height gauges, Indicators etc.) to ensure products produced are within acceptable tolerances as determined by the engineering drawings.
  • Locate and accurately drill out holes in enclosures to support production requirements.
  • Cut and Assemble din-rail, ground bars, insert hardware nuts, standoffs, and all other components required to produce back plates to support repeat production needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards, as well as customer needs
  • Ensure proper use of always required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Report all safety, quality, or employee issues immediately to Cell Team Lead
  • Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes
  • Load and unload product using safe lifting and operating techniques
  • Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety
  • Flexible, and able to rotate between different jobs within the production cell, and other production cells
  • Bolt, screw, clip, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment
  • Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories using hand tools, power tools, and other aids like overhead hoists
  • Manually pack goods and inserts into bags, boxes, or other containers
  • Assemble products using engineering drawings and electrical wiring schematics

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ability to read and interpret advanced engineering drawings/schematics.
  • Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Experience assembling, mounting, fastening, wiring, aligning components to subassemblies.
  • One to Two years (1-2) years previous mechanical assembly experience is an asset.
  • Experience using MRP systems, experience with Syteline.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate in English.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry and move up to 13kg/50lbs.
  • Capable of being on your feet for extended periods, wearing safety footwear and PPE.
  • Able to bend, crouch, kneel without restriction.
