Evening Shift Submerged Arc Welding Table Operator

Trimay Wear Plate is the leading manufacturer and distributor of overlay wear plate & pipe, rubber lined pipe, welding consumables, and VR connectors. Trimay has a manufacturing facility and head office in east Edmonton, and services an international customer base in a wide range of industries, including mining, oilfield, forestry, asphalt, and power generation.

We are currently looking for a Table Operator to join our team. The position will report to the

Plant Manager and will be part of an existing production team. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Follow health and safety procedures to work in the welding and fabrication environment
  • Operate and adjust semi-automatic submerged arc welding machinery as required
  • Produce quality product according to procedures
  • Maintain high production outputs
  • Provide feedback and maintenance requests to improve machine performance
  • Complete all assigned Quality checks
  • Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement
  • Safely operate lifting equipment (forklift, overhead crane 3-10 Ton)
  • Adhere to all workplace safety and quality policies, procedures, and processes
  • Use of all required safety equipment
  • Ability to use a variety of power/pneumatic tools such as impact wrench, hammer chisel, grinders

The Table Operator must possess the following:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience in welding and stationary machine operations is a must.
  • Highly punctual
  • Reliable means of transportation
  • Able to work as a functioning member of a team
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
  • Willingness to cross train on other equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Must be available to work on evening shifts: 3:00pm – 11:00pm.

Overtime may be available periodically weekdays and weekends.

Compensation to be based on experience. Benefits will be provided after 3 months of employment.
