Full Job Description

Overview:
Manages Quality Control/Quality Assurance at Fabex per ASME Code, Company and PO requirements. Performs the daily operations and inspections of the QC department. Audits all departments to ensure the processes of the QA Manual are followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews Client specifications
  • Performs QC/QA inspections per Code, Company and PO requirements
  • Generates and maintains Inspection file reports & documents per Code, Company and PO requirements
  • Creates final data packages
  • Creates welding procedures as well as NDE procedures and Inspection Test Plans
  • Schedules Vendor Inspections and provides required notices per PO requirements
  • Schedules NDE and Controls costs of NDE
  • Performs audits of all departments, including sub-contractors, to verify compliance with Code, Company and PO requirements
  • Maintains approved subcontractor and vendor documents & Certifications as required by Code, Company and PO requirements
  • Issues NCRs and logs corrective action as needed
  • Fills out Welder Log and issues stencil
  • Ensures that the weld log, which contains each welder’s work and proof of x-ray of each welder’s production, is properly updated and available at client’s request.
  • Reviews welding repair data
  • Maintains weld tracking and NDE percentages of welders
  • Maintains QC manual
  • Work OT as needed
  • Attends weekly production meetings
  • Assists document control as needed
  • Assists other departments as needed
  • Comply with all Company Core Safety Rules, policies and procedures.
  • Report any unsafe conditions wherever they exist to the safety department, their supervisor, or the management of Fabex immediately.
  • Report all incidents/accidents/injuries involving the health and wellbeing of any employee to management immediately.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledgeable of ASME Section VII and Section IX, ANSI, API 650 and ASNT codes
  • Certified Welding Inspection Certification preferred
  • Knowledgeable of NDE processes
  • Familiar with industrial coatings
  • High regard for safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Time management skills; Ability to work under tight schedules
  • Ability to identify cost savings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
