COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Royal Machine Solutions is a small contracting company located in Brantford, Ontario with a lot of growth potential. Safety and punctuality is a must. RMS provides full millwrighting services including preventive maintenance programs, machine repair, shift coverage, machining, designing solutions for equipment issues, and high quality fabrication of stainless as well as mild steel and aluminum. RMS is experienced in managing large or extended projects as well as small custom solutions for businesses, and prides itself on cultivating a passionate workforce that is highly skilled in industrial machine repair. POSITION OVERVIEW and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Through technology, a strong work ethic and continual innovation, Royal Machine Solutions is becoming an industry leader in outsourced millwrighting services. Due to this growth, we are looking to add a millwright pre-apprentice to the team. The successful candidate will provide support to more experienced millwrights in all millwrighting tasks, and provide shop support when needed. Millwrighting tasks will mainly include troubleshooting and repairing machinery, assembling and installing machinery, welding, fabrication, and manual machining. Shop support will include sweeping, organizing shelves, painting, cleaning bathrooms, moving machinery and shelving, loading and unloading vehicles, cleaning vehicles, and running errands. We are willing to accept high school students and pre-apprentices with a strong hands on skill set and experience in mechanics or welding. This position is available as either a temporary job (summer) or a permanent position.

Skills Include:

Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting on production equipment in a variety of manufacturing industries, such as Food, Automotive, Steel, Pulp and Paper, and Recycling

Conducting Preventative Maintenance activities and prioritizing tasks accordingly

Ability to identify root cause of equipment failures and follow-up on feasibility of modifications

Experience laying out, fitting, welding (MIG and TIG) custom fabrications

Ability to design and fabricate one-off pieces independently, as well as following blueprints and verbal direction

Manual machining

Experience with hand tools (grinder, drill, die grinder, various saws)

Experience with shop tools (various saws, welders, drill press, iron worker)

Attention to detail leading to high quality work

Ability to multitask

Working safely

Working independently (independent problem solving), as well as in a team

Strong interpersonal skills

Mechanical aptitude

Comfortable with computers

QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Apprentice (willing to accept high school students/pre-apprentices with proper skills)

Training in Lift Truck, Aerial Platforms, and WHMIS would be considered an asset but not a requirement

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Safety and punctuality is a must

Interests / experience with related mechanical aptitude

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High School Diploma/Certificate

COMPENSATION:

Dependent on skill and experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $14.00-$16.00 per hour
