Overview

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate Hollow Metal Man Door products to specifications from fabrication tickets, shop drawings, and elevation drawings, including layout, measurement, cut-outs, fabrication, welding, grinding, finishing, and painting.
  • Maintain fabrication and safety equipment.
  • Further develop mechanical skills, learn new techniques, and remain current with product requirements.
  • Other projects and duties assigned.
  • Loading, unloading, inventory control, and general housekeeping.
  • Working closely with the estimator/project coordinator & lead service technician to complete projects.
  • Assisting the lead hand with installations and servicing hollow metal man doors when required.
  • Completing all paperwork accurately and handing it in on a on timely basis.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Driving company vehicles, to and from jobsites when needed.
  • Ensuring your jobsite area is tidied an all garbage is disposed of.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must have MIG welding experience; preferably with Hollow Metal Doors & Pressed Steel Frames.
  • Experience installing and servicing Hollow Metal Man Doors is an asset, but is not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Experience working with Aluminum Store Front Type Doors is an asset, but is not required.
  • Accurately read tape measure, safely cut and weld (MIG Welding) steel, safely use power tools (saw, grinder, sander, etc.) and hand tools.
  • Mechanically inclined, detail orientated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Heavy lifting is required, the successful candidate must be physically fit and be able to lift over 100lbs; comfortably, independently, and repetitively throughout the day
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Steel-toed work boots
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting and independently.
  • Must be able to read, speak, & write English fluently.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license, and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be on time to work each day
  • Any relevant safety training and safety tickets are an asset; such as: First Aid, Forklift Training, etc.

This is a permanent, full-time position. Not seasonal. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. Some weekends and overtime will be required.

A company cell phone is also provided.

Coveralls will be provided.

Wage offered will be based on experience. Company benefits plan is available after 3 months.
