Industrial Maintenance/Weld Technician – Night Shift, located in Stratford, ON

Omex Manufacturing ULC is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician with a minimum of three to five years of practical experience to join our rapidly expanding business.

Omex manufactures automotive parts for several major manufacturers and our product portfolio includes a wide array of stamped, welded and assembled components.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot and maintain several diverse manufacturing processes, including mechanical and servo presses, robotic weld cells, plastic injection molding machines and automated assembly cells.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Completion of preventative and predictive maintenance inspection and repairs on all machinery
  • Perform basic and routine maintenance on production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Managing through emergency equipment breakdowns and process failures
  • Effective communication for shift crossovers, work order feedback, production meeting and activity coordination within the maintenance team.

General Duties:

  • Understanding and following safe working practices, including, but not limited to, lockout and isolation procedures
  • Use of personal protective equipment, as required
  • Understanding the potential environmental impacts of maintenance duties and work toward reducing them.
  • Responsible for maintaining a tidy, clean and safe work environment on the floor and in the maintenance/tool room.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant practical experience supporting weld cells and maintenance of
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with automated gas-metal arc welding (GMAW)
  • Experience with robotics (Fanuc, ABB, or Motoman considered an asset)
  • Basic milling and lathe experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong team player, able to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to read and understand equipment drawings and manuals

Additional Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with preventative maintenance software would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a high-volume stamping and assembly environment would be considered an asset
  • Millwright license would be an asset but not a requirement.
