Comet Welding is a CWB certified welding and custom fabrication shop located in Lacombe, AB

We work with customers in various industries to provide engineered and certified components specific to each clients needs. The quality of our products and commitment to our customers has been Comet Welding’s priority since 1982.

Comet Welding is looking for an experienced Fabricators for steel fabrication. We’re seeking hardworking professionals who enjoy meeting challenges and surpassing expectations.

Current CWB tickets are an asset and you must have in-depth knowledge, experience & skill in the trade.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret drawings, measurements and project layouts
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Mathematical skills
  • Follow required procedures & use appropriate tools for the job
  • Maintain/produce a level of output that will minimize project delays
  • Follow and participate in a safe work culture
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Communicate effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow
  • Work efficiently as part of a team

You will be expected to have on the job experience with the following:

  • Strong fabrication & welding skills
  • Heavy equipment repairs and modification
  • Custom fabrication of various types of products ranging from lifting devices to decorative art
  • Complex project assemblies
  • Steel, Aluminum & Stainless Steel
  • Weld procedures: FCAW, MCAW, GMAW, SMAW & GTAW

This position requires a mechanically inclined person with experience using overhead cranes, drills, band saws, and general shop tools.

This is a full time position, a valid class 5 license and reliable transportation is required. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 4:30 PM and some Saturdays
