SUMMARY

We are looking for a candidate who is a certified Red Seal Welder and/or Fabricator. The Welder/ Fabricator position will entail fabrication/welding/ and assembly duties. The ideal candidate will participate in fabrication priorities based off the production schedule, effectively managing time and manufacturing activities. This ideal candidate is also strong in problem solving skills, organization and attention detailed.

Journeyman Welder/ Fabricator RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fabrication of tanks, frames, conveyors, feeders, silos and other equipment
  • Fabricating and assembling piping systems ·
  • Installing pumps, tanks, valves, motors and other components into fully functioning grout plants
  • Cutting, shaping, forming, profiling and joining of steels and some plastics
  • Inspecting equipment, creating repair plans and executing repairs
  • Participating in design reviews
  • Reviewing and redlining fabrication drawings
  • Moving/positioning materials with a forklift or overhead crane
  • Writing and reviewing work practices and procedures · Preparing shipments
  • Loading/unloading transport trucks
  • Be safety-minded, focused on quality conscientiousness, and having a strong, productive work ethic
  • Enforce all health and safety policies in the shop
  • Ensure the shop and yard are clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material
  • Plan and schedule workflow for smooth and strategic execution
  • Report production progress and issues to leadership
  • Assist with creating and maintaining an accurate and organized inventory/warehousing system

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a Journeyman Welder and/or Fabricator with a Canadian Red Seal Designation
  • Must have knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing practices/processes
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience of all health and safety protocols and best practices
  • Must be able to work under pressure to achieve fast-paced deadlines
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time efficiently
  • Must have an eye for detail
  • Must be an excellent communicator
  • Must be able to read and understand fabrication drawings and machine parts manuals
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime on evenings or weekends if required
  • Must have a Class 5 driver’s license

DESIRABLE SKILLS &/or EXPERIENCE

  • Experience and/or knowledge of P&IDs, pumps, valves, piping systems, pneumatic systems and PLC’s
  • Experience operating a forklift
  • Experience creating job plans and schedules
  • Experience arranging external and internal service

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; climb ladders.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below waist.

WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

  • Monday to Friday (typically 8hrs/day)
  • Site work and travel will require longer hours.
  • Travel requirements – up to 30% per year.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $31.00-$36.00 per hour
