Metal and Wood Products (1958) Ltd. is a custom fabrication shop that has been serving the greater Vancouver area for over 50 years. We have built our reputation by providing high-end architectural details with an emphasis on communication, consistency, and quality.

We are currently looking for an experienced full-time Lead Hand fabricator/welder to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

· Work with Production Manager to plan and schedule current/incoming work

· Provide technical support to fabricators

· Assist in developing the skills and techniques of the fabricators

· Maintain a high level of quality control

· Provide positive feedback on areas of improvement

· Encourage positive attitude and team spirit

· Work in a safe and efficient manner

· Welding TIG/MIG (aluminum, stainless steel, other ferrous and non-ferrous metals)

· Fitting, fabricating, and assembling

· Ensure shop equipment is maintained and all equipment pre use inspections are completed

Requirements:

· 2+ experience in a leadership role

· A team player

· Communicate effectively with team members and understand instructions, verbal and/or written

· Able to read and understand complicated drawings

· Able to work independently with minimal assistance

· A problem solver, quick learner, organized and adaptable

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task

· Have a high level of attention to detail and metal finishing skill

· Have at least 5 years work experience fabricating and welding

· Able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

· Living in the greater Vancouver area

Preference given to applicants with experience in operation of press brakes, sheet metal rolls, punch press, shears and additionally a forklift operator certificate

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

7:00am – 3:30pm
