Plant Maintenance/Welder

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant equipment often through welding Maintenance including but not limited to screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions
  • Monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance
  • Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date
  • Assist with operation of plan including cleaning, washing, sweeping and shoveling materials
  • Complete pre and post inspection of working area
  • Operates other equipment such as haul trucks and loaders as needed
  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Experience Needed

  • 2-4 years of stick welding and maintenance experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour

  • Are you able to do a Welding test and a basic math test will be given during the interview process?
  • Are you okay with 80% of local out-of-town travel / 20% shop work?

(You will be driving company trucks to travel to different locations but trucks should be stationed at the shop when not in use, in other words, you can’t take trucks home.)


  • Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Stick Welding: 2 years (Required)
