The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery such as drill presses, saws, edge planer/router and other machinery. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Job Duties
Operate light machinery, including: brake presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and computer numerical control equipment (CNC).
Layout reference points and patterns on heavy metals according to the templates/blueprints.
Monitor quality of fabrication and production.
Sets up and operates heavy machine tools, such as: drill press, saws, edge planer/router and various other pieces of machinery/equipment.
Other duties as required.
Requirements
A minimum high school education
Working experience in Metal Fabrication an asset
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Previous experience using brake presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and computer numerical control equipment (CNC)
Manual Dexterity
Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Working Conditions
Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
Employee may be exposed to dust, high temperatures and high levels of noise.
Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting.
Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment.
Overtime as required.

Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid driver’s license. The starting wage for this position is dependent on experience and training.
Upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period the candidate will be eligible to take part in our benefits package, including health, dental, life insurance, Group RRSP and safety boot/clothing allowance.
The hours on the day shift are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00 am to noon Friday. – GREAT WORK/LIFE BALANCE.
