Overview
Reinhart Foods, a multi-product food processing company is looking for a Maintenance Millwright/Welder. The qualified applicant will provide maintenance support throughout facility. Previous experience in the following areas would be beneficial: working from heights, confined space entry, liquid transfer, boiler operation, generator operation and maintenance, waste water systems, building maintenance and production line maintenance. The suitable candidate will work towards continuous improvement in all aspects of the job. Safe work practices as directed by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations are required.
Preference will be given to a licensed millwright. The primary responsibilities of this position will be welding (TIG and Stick), pipe fitting, and fabrication. The qualified applicant must have welding tickets. Prior work experience in the food industry would be an asset.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years relevant work experience. Preference will be given to those that hold a Millwright/Welding ticket.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
Experience with packaging equipment and or working with Food Plant equipment (conveyors, fillers, and labellers).
Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Able to deal with people diplomatically and professionally at all times
Ability to work in a team environment
Dayshift but flexible to change shifts if needed – for labour and vacation coverage
Overtime and/or weekend work may be required
Carry an on-call phone (rotating coverage)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts.
Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machineries.
Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion or repairs, modifications and installations.
Sharpening and maintaining machine tools.
Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines.
Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
Cleaning and lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries.
Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Strictly adhering to the organization’s food safety and quality policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.
