Position Description:
The USG Construction team has openings for Mechanical, Millwright, and/or Welder tradesman. We are currently hiring for various projects in the US. We are looking for Construction Mechanical tradesmen that are interested in traveling to USG facilities as needed to complete capital projects. New hires are eligible for a daily per diem to cover living expenses while assigned to a project. We need team oriented, experienced Mechanical Tradesmen interested in working for an industry leader.

Qualifications

Safety Functions

Must know, understand, and abide by all safety rules, standards, and practices.

Able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this skill or job area.

Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area and complying with all housekeeping directives.

Able to operate in a safe manner during normal and upset operational situations.

Quality Functions

Recognize and report areas of equipment malfunctions.

Communicate any malfunctions to proper supervisory personnel or higher skilled craftsmen.

Operating Functions

Must possess at least 48 months of verifiable experience in the trade through field experience, apprenticeship programs, trade school certifications, or on-the-job training in some combination.

Capable of reading and understanding general arrangement drawings and sketches.

Responsible for the lay out of advanced jobs and tasks for others.

Able to make precision alignments with the aid of lasers.

Possess the knowledge of the safe and proper usage of an optical level.

Can safely and securely rig up to 1,999 pounds without a lift ticket.

Knowledgeable in the use of proper rigging and lifting hand signals.

Capable of fabricating necessary parts from drawings and patterns

Can safely and effectively work in an unsupervised capacity for defined periods of time.

General knowledge of precision tools, their areas of use, and how to use the tool(s).

Possess the minimum tools required as defined in the Construction Services Required Tool List.

Teamwork/Administrative Functions

Demonstrate the ability to cooperate with coworkers in all areas.

Understands the importance of completing assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner and their relationship to the success of the overall project.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Able and willing to work assigned overtime as necessary.

Perform other job duties as required.
