Now, about you…

Tepa’s Industrial Services Division is looking for a Welder to support a project at Dyess AFB, TX. This position does not require you to live in that area, but will require you to work in that area. Applicants from other areas that are willing to travel are encouraged to apply. Daily per diem will be provided.

As a Welder on this project, in addition to performing both stick and tig welding, you must be able to perform or assist in tasks related to welding such as fit‐up, preparation, repair, inspection, and post weld preparation. You will also be asked to assist with general site work such as loading and unloading equipment and materials, site clean‐up and preparation, mobilization and demobilization to and from the jobsite, scaffolding erection, general mechanical tasks and other duties as assigned.

Other responsibilities include:
Follows welding procedure specifications when welding

Must be able to perform quality welds to be able to pass radiographic interpretation

Must be able to perform quality welds using various welding processes

Produces consistent quality welds with efficiency

Performs or assists with fit‐up and preparation of welds

Performs or assists with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair

Communicates regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site

Must be able to inspect all materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the work.

Must be able to maintain supplies, equipment, and tools.

Must be able to properly prepare the materials by clamping, cutting or applying chemical solutions to piping.

Must be able to examine completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional.

Complies with all Tepa safety policies and programs

What are we looking for?

1-3 years of relevant work experience

Welding Certification from accredited school

Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME Codes and Standards

Must be able to pass a 6G pipe test within the first 30 days of employment

Must be able to perform both stick and tig welds on both carbon & stainless steel pipe

Ability to troubleshoot and strong attention to detail

Physical dexterity

Must have a current passport or be able to obtain one upon request

Must be willing to travel

Must be able to pass a background check

Must be able to gain access to federal installations

Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions

Ability to read and write in English required
