VP, Operations
SALARY:
$70,000.00 to $90,000.00
SUMMARY:
§ Assess and review Automation equipment as requested by management based by Equipment/Integrator Suppliers for new equipment. Provide direction for Robotic welding, CNC machines.
§ Understand the various methods of welding and the standards associated with each type, MIG, SMAW, SAW
§ Understand Industry standards and customer specific requirements
§ Understand welding parameters and materials (wire) and adjustments required to provide solutions to common technical issues
§ Understand the equipment used to perform the various types of welding
§ Participate in tooling design reviews to optimize welding processes.
§ Provide direction in Destructive and Non-Destructive Weld testing.
§ Responsible to provide estimates on tooling, special purpose gauges/ fixtures, cycle times and capital
§ Responsible for manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures and tooling design and development
§ Responsible to define and implement error proofing
§ Tooling and equipment sourcing, development, progress tracking and validation as required
§ Trouble shoot process/equipment related issues and fine tune process to eliminate process-induced defects
§ Responsible to initiate and maintain Standardized Job / Operator Instructions, Set-up Instructions and Re-work Instructions as needed
§ Conduct time studies, identify capacity constraints and opportunities to improve efficiencies and to reduce manufacturing costs
§ Initiate cost reductions ideas and/or quality improvement measures. Supports the QC department when required with customer concerns and corrective actions.
§ Support Preventative Maintenance Program development for all manufacturing process equipment
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical / Welding Engineering or Diploma of Engineering Technology Mechanical / Welding Engineering: of automated welding processes and tooling experience (in an automotive environment is preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII Div.1
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong facilitation skills
- Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) knowledge
- Knowledge in CAD : 3D Models, Drawings and GD&Ts an asset
- Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision and directions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to maintain all engineering related records in an organized and tidy manner
- Support Quality Systems, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems Requirements
- Ability to work well under pressure and able to utilize problem solving techniques effectively
- Respecting and understanding customer / supplier relationship
