The Position

We are seeking an individual to perform the role of lead working fabricator/supervisor. You will be transitioning from various areas both over seeing, training and performing tasks as required. Additionally, you will be working directly with a very hands-on management team to constantly improve and develop new manufacturing processes and products.

Job Responsibilities

· Oversee and organize the fabrication team

· Champion safe work practices, and monitor team for compliance, reprimand and document violations as required

· Monitoring, tracking and enforcing check-in and time tracking policies

· Fabricating new and complex pieces in various departments, until such time that SOPs are in place for other staff. Specific tasks will include (but not limited to):

o Welding (Mig & Tig on thin mild steel, stainless and aluminum)

o Large batch material prep in automated saw

o Forming with Brake Press and dialing in bend parameters

o Drilling, tapping, reaming etc

o Punch Press Operation

· Setting up and checking calibration of brake press

· Working on prototype and custom pieces with the design and engineer team

· Design, fabricate and test various jigs

· Assist with general production in departments that are falling behind as required

· Monitoring consumable and tool inventory, and ordering as necessary

· Interacting with consumable vendors to procure items (discs, welding tips, dies, etc)

· If required (hopefully not) completing workplace incident reports, and WSIB reports

Qualifications and Skills

· 5+ years brake press experience, and strong understanding of brake press setup, and accuracy tuning (both modern and older style units)

· High level of familiarity welding thin gauge mild steel and aluminum (14-20 ga)

· 2+ years experience operating a CNC Bandsaw (Preferably with a Hyd Mech)

· 5+ years experience with Ironworker style punch press

· Basic familiarity and experience with CNC Plasma Cutter

· Ability to read and follow drawings

· Weld inspection and instruction skills

· Experience with Fanuc Welding robot would be an asset (though not required)

· Intermediate phone, email and spreadsheet skills

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

· Strong understanding of safety regulations and requirements, WSIB protocols and procedures

Salary: $55,000.00-$62,500.00 per month
