Project Details:
Based in Central Saskatchewan, this will be a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation opportunity. This is not a camp position and you will be required to commute to and from the site.
Responsibilities:
- Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines.
- Must be prepared to adhere to all legislated regulations and company Health & Safety policies
- Perform the role safely and ensures Health & Safety is the number one priority
- Good comprehension when reading information, blueprints or welding process specifications and/or receiving verbal instructions as required to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and check equipment for defect faults and malfunctions
- Conducting minor and major repairs on mining equipment
- Operate welding, brazing and soldering machine equipment
- Fabrication and repairs to equipment, fixtures and structures
- Operate additional equipment such as drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes and hand tools.
- clean-up/shoveling, scaling, bolting, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, piling materials, adding and reclaiming conveyor belt hardware, hanging and relocating electrical cables, installing line brattice for ventilation, setting up extensible belts, and other duties as required
- Utilize mobile equipment and tools with due consideration for safety and environmental issues.
- Utilize reliable and accurate operational and practical knowledge to minimize downtime and potential loss of production.
- Perform minor repairs, such as changing striker bars, couplings, water tubes and hose clamps.
- Complete daily logbooks on equipment and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.
- Work in accordance with company standards, policies and procedures pertaining to appropriate conduct for employees, including the Code of Conduct.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years working as a Journeyperson Welder in an industrial / mining operation
- Minimum 2+ years running excavator/heavy equipment
- Valid Interprovincial trade qualifications in Welding (Red Seal Certification)
- Must be CWB certified for 4 position SMAW (stick) minimum
- Line Boring experience an asset
- Provincially regulated Common Core and previous underground mining experience is a definite asset
- Experience working with a variety of crews and adapts well to working with others
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and able to commit to a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation
- Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team
Pre-employment Requirements:

- Criminal Record Check
You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 14 days on site, 14 days off site.
For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing.
