Overview
Based in Agassiz BC, this position is looking for a professional with an exceptional and positive attitude; capable to follow standard processes and conduct quality inspections with a very diligent manner performing tasks in a daily basis but also comfortable to adapt into a fast-paced environment procuring to provide the best service to internal customers. This position needs an individual knowledgeable of NDT (Non-Destructive tests), steel welding standards and measuring tools happy to jump into the rims and wheels manufacturing world.
This position is requested to:
Follow all RIMEX processes and work instructions
Support Quality Department and all RIMEX systems in place.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
Quality Control Inspector
Perform daily routines of Quality Control Inspection: In-Process, Pre-Paint, & Final Inspection.
May include but not limited to visual, dimensional and paint inspections.
Perform daily routines of Welding Inspection
NDT (Non-Destructive tests): Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant when needed.
Assist all production staff and supervisors (lead-hands) providing a proactive and exceptional service when they call for QC.
Enter Quality Reports into our Quality Reports system (NCR’s).
Along with the QC Team, support the investigation of the root cause of Quality Reports and help to keep the system up to date.
Support the investigation of customer complaints.
Conduct special inspections of in-stock or returned parts if applicable.
Based on the current workload either assist or be responsible of the following:
Incoming Inspection
Conduct inspections on incoming materials/parts and report it into our ERP system.
May include, visual, dimensional, hardness tests, and other NDT.
Facilitate external testing if needed.
Set up QC Items in our ERP system based on vendor contracts, drawing specifications and inspection criteria.
Update inspection frequency based on quality incidents or special needs.
Manage MRR’s (Material Review Request), create SCAR’s (Supplier Corrective Action Request) and follow up CAPA cases (Corrective and Preventive Cases).
Calibration System
Monitor and control all measuring devices.
Ensure the appropriate measuring device is used for the associated process.
Ensure measuring device availability/vending machine inventory levels (Inventory Control).
Conduct internal verification for specific devices.
Facilitate external calibration when needed.
Update calibration records.
Conduct investigation and determine the disposition of measuring instruments that failed calibration.
Other Duties
Fill in purchases requisition for all equipment, consumables, needed for the QC Dept.
Be the backup in absence of any of our QC team members traveling to our Agassiz plant.
Education:
Required
Capable on NDT, Nondestructive testing: Visual
Desirable
NDT Certificates: Ultrasonics (UT), Magnetic Particle testing (MP), Liquid penetrating testing (LT).
CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) certified Welding Inspector Level I
Experience, Skills & Abilities
Required:
NDT: Visual welding inspection.
Strong measurement skills.
Capable with visual and numerical thinking.
Comfortable with computer and MS Office suite, Excel knowledge medium level is needed.
Desirable:
UT, MP, LT experience is greatly desired, but RIMEX will provide in-house training anyways.
Welding & metal background is an asset.
