Part-time Academic Position

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves around the world and in our local community, Conestoga College continues to adjust plans based on the guidance provided by our local Public Health authority. Considering these unprecedented circumstances, all final hiring decisions remain contingent upon confirmed enrolment numbers and the evolving work environment. The Conestoga College department of Workforce Development & Corporate Training requires qualified individual/s to teach practical components of robotics welding and GMAW/MIG weld process for a custom workshop delivery.

Our upcoming workshop is April 25-28, 2022, with other 4-day workshops taking place throughout the rest of 2022, at the Cambridge Fountain St Campus. Hours of work are 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Qualifications:
Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification in Welder trade

Will consider candidates with post-secondary training in robotics welding

Practical experience in a Welding shop at the Journeyperson level is preferred

Previous experience teaching and/or demonstrating welding practical skills in a shop environment is an asset

Strong understanding of theory with practical welding experience to teach setup and programming of Fanuc and Motoman robots, GMAW/MIG fundamentals and variables

Ability to teach skills to run, test and troubleshoot robot programming

Excellent leadership skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success

Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are required

Flexible hours required; availability to work four consecutive days (dates listed above)
