Propower Mfg. located in Windsor Ontario is looking for a Powder Coating Technician/Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. This is a hybrid role that works approximately 50% of the time in each area. We are willing to train the right candidate. This is a direct hire, permanent position on a 3-week shift rotation between days (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and afternoons (12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.). If you want to work for a company that offers:

Job Duties – Powder Coating

  • Powder coat steel tanks, electrical enclosures, parts and accessories to assure quality finish while meeting production goals
  • Prepare and clean products for powder coating
  • Apply coatings and cure in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
  • Maintain and clean powder coating equipment and work area
  • Verify and maintain inventory levels of coatings and supplies, ensuring lot trace system is followed and documented
  • Assist in general production activities when required
  • Adhere to all safety procedures

Job Duties – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of sheet metal blanking and forming equipment

· CNC LASER Cutter

· CNC Plasma Cutter

· CNC Turret Punch Press

· CNC and Manual Rollers

· CNC and Manual Press Brakes

· Shear

· Interpret and follow written instructions, schedules, and drawings

· Identify machine problems and troubleshoot minor program errors independently

· Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts

· All tools supplied

Requirements

  • Ability to distinguish between different colours on colour spectrum
  • An eagerness to learn and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Electrostatic Powder Coating experience an asset
  • Knowledge of powder coating equipment (powder guns, booth, oven) an asset
  • Knowledge of various coating materials and techniques an asset
  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints
  • Ability to use mathematics relevant to functions
  • Requires familiarity with machining tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches
  • Familiarity with CNC machine tools an asset
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing an asset
  • Ability to operate overhead crane and fork lift an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle material
  • Excellent reliability and attendance habits
