Overview
JOB DUTIES
- Able to identify key building components
- Prepare material prior to assembly
- Hoisting and guiding components into place using cranes or forklifts
- Operate and working from elevated work platforms (EWP)
- Attaching cables/turfers to steel members
- Rig hoist and move material
- Install fiberglass building insulation, metal cladding and standing seam roofs
- Install insulated metal panels, windows , passage doors
- Complete housekeeping duties as required
- Comply with all Mid Island Installations health and safety policies and procedures and local government health safety regulations
- Training and maintaining operator tickets as required

- Observant and detail oriented
- Agile with a strong sense of balance
- Comfortable at great heights and walking on narrow beams
- Above average strength to handle and maneuver heavy materials
- Effective interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy while working with a variety of individuals and groups
- Fluent in the English language
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS (Recommended but Not All Required)
- Construction safety training (CSTS-09)
- Fall protection
- Driver license
- Elevated work platform certificate (EWP)
- Forklift certificate
GENERAL JOB CONDITIONS
Metal building systems erectors (Pre-Engineered Steel Erectors) will travel throughout Vancouver Island to assemble and install pre-engineered metal buildings and steel components (including overhead cranes, mezzanines, window and passage door installations, etc.). Jobs include varying sizes of commercial and industrial projects, including recreation facilities, warehouses, fabrication shops and heavy industrial projects.

Salary: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
