The Process Engineering Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing enterprise process primarily in our heat treatment, chemistry, and cleaning area. The incumbent ensures that processes are in compliance with the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) requirements.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Reads and interprets technical drawings
  • Prepares Technical Specification and Cost Benefit Analysis for procurement of capital equipment. Liaises with management in the procurement process
  • Defines action plan for SAL to approve MRO repairs and equipment to Airworthiness Requirements
  • Provides support, training, work instructions and problem resolution to Technicians.
  • Define compliance requirements during audits and to support OEM repair approval process
  • Liaison with Enterprise Manufacturing sites regarding component repairs, inspection and compliance
  • Complete special projects which may involve travel to support worldwide Enterprise Manufacturing facilities

Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings
  • Thorough knowledge of Welding, Brazing, Heat Treatment
  • Thorough knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Metallurgical Evaluation
  • Working knowledge of Non-Destructive Evaluation
  • Working knowledge of Thermal Spray & Coatings
  • Working knowledge of Chemical Processes – Stripping, Cleaning, Plating
  • University degree in mechanical, industrial, aerospace, chemical, or metallurgical engineering; or equivalent
  • This position will require 10% to 15% of international travel. The incumbent must have valid documents for overseas travel at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills
  • Experience teaching, training and qualifying Technicians or Engineers in Mechanical of aspects of Aerospace Manufacturing
