Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Mechanical Design – Project Coordinator’s primary function is to support the Mechanical Engineering group in the design, development and integration of components, tools and equipment. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Design and Development:

– Provide technical support and services for engineers and project managers

– Prepare and interpret conventional and computer assisted design (CAD) engineering designs, drawings and specifications

– Help prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports

– Assist in the design of tools, jigs and fixtures for use in manufacturing processes

– Supervise, monitor and inspect mechanical installations

– Carry out a range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials

– Create and foster teamwork within each project

– Participate in the installation, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment

– Check drawings to DYMECH standards

– Check CAD models for accuracy and DFMA Principles

Communication:

– Ensure proper documentation of all work, products and relevant activities

– Encourage open communication within the design team

Experience:

Candidates applying for this position will possess the following experience:

– Completion of a B.Eng. or B.Sc. program in mechanical engineering

– Knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication equipment and processes

– Knowledge of engineering drawings and documentation

– Relevant project work experience is an asset

Work Environment

– Engineers and other technical staff may be required to work at remote sites for periods up to 28 consecutive days. These sites could be international, on offshore platforms or other remote sites from time-to-time.

– Management will provide as much notice as possible for these trips and every effort will be made to reduce the impact on employees schedules in such cases.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
