Duties/Responsibilities:
Ability to problem solve, diagnose, and make recommendations to Shindaiwa customers possessing Shindaiwa branded generator and welding equipment

Develop and maintain national service centers to assist in the warranty and repair of Shindaiwa branded equipment

Develop vendor relations to assist in the procurement of parts or accessories needed in the daily support function of our service industry

Travels throughout the territory assisting customers in service related activity or training as deemed necessary

Works directly with National Service Manager in communicating day to day service needs of national accounts and fleet customers

Report product deficiencies, implement service bulletins, and manage field campaigns while reporting results to ECHO and Yamabiko Corp.

Ability to hold instructional courses for the service and maintenance of Shindaiwa branded equipment

Maintain knowledge of codes and requirements for portable power generation equipment and welders

Demonstrate operation and illustrate the features and benefits of machinery at customer work site to include load bank testing as necessary

Deliver complete service price quotes for warranty and service repairs as needed

Estimates date of completion to customer based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules. Assists with the delivery of field stock when necessary and provides signed delivery documents

Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts maintained in accordance with company policies

Develops and maintains relationships with all key contacts at each customer location

Investigates and resolves all customer problems

Attends trade shows and assists with the set-up and removal of displays

Responsible for using good judgment when entertaining customers, completing expense accounts and timely submission of expense verification / reports

Insure customers have available 24-hour access via 877-9-TORQUE phone number

Performs other duties that may be assigned

Job Experience/Skills:
Prior power generation and diesel engine mechanics background is required, preferably experienced in a service manager or senior service roll.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.

Must possess a working knowledge of computers and business software such as Microsoft Office for communication and analysis of information.

Travel: Must be able to travel 75%.
