ROAD FOREMAN/FABRICATOR(WELDER)

Nemx Skilled Trades is a dynamically growing contracting company whose expertise is within the fabrication, rigging and CWB Certified welding arena and we are eager to add an experienced Road Welding Foreman to join our team. As a Nemx Skilled Trades Welding Foreman responsible for the planning, scheduling, supervision and development of crew members your responsibilities include:

  • Interpret blueprints and job-specific information including technical instruction, codes and standards
  • Use overhead cranes and other rigging systems to assist in the fabrication process
  • Ensure the working environment is clean and safe
  • Aid in project designs and construct templates, jigs and fixtures
  • Fabricate and inspect sub-assemblies and assemblies based on work procedures and shop drawings
  • Verify conformance of project workpiece to specifications, using square, rulers, and/ or measuring tape
  • Solve mathematical & angle problems
  • Fabricates and inspects components parts and structures then assemble into a completed unit
  • Perform QC spot checks
  • Operate heavy & light machinery such as: drills, welding machines, various saws, press brakes, shears, cutting torches, grinders and plasma torches
  • Recommends to the General Manager the professional development, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews of teammates
  • Assist the Shop Manager with your expertise and experience in scheduled CWB practice and test days
  • Work with Millwrights on mechanical assembly, new installations, rebuilding machinery, preventative maintenance and shut down service

Safety:

  • Required to follow all safety requirements as per safety policies
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and recognizing the need for help

Qualifications:

The Nemx Skilled Trades team wants to talk if you:

  • acquired a minimum of 10+ years of direct mild steel and stainless-steel welding, fabrication and rigging experience
  • possess current SMAW welding CWB certification (all positions) and GMAW welding CWB certification (flat only).
  • have solid mechanical abilities/aptitude with strong rigging experience
  • have proven leadership/supervision/mentoring of others
  • want to be the “go-to” person and mentor to a team of up-and-coming fabricating specialists
  • are willing to work with shop crew members and provide welding expertise at the Nemx shop facility (infrequent)
  • achieve top quality results following oral and/or printed work instructions
  • consider yourself to be an individual who effectively performs his/her duties in a safety-driven environment and promotes the same ideal of your teammates
  • possess strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • are highly competent with both verbal and written English communication skills
  • own your hand tools and a welding helmet
  • possess a valid driver’s license and can provide a clean abstract
  • are not afraid of a little heavy lifting on occasion
  • shine with a “pursue excellence” attitude and are a quality-driven professional
  • have proven yourself a go-getter, self-starter and possess initiative in abundance
  • are able to assume a leadership role and desire to make an immediate impact
