Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Probation Wage: $22.80-$23.70

Probation Completion Wage: $24.26

One Year Wage: $25.54

*Pay ranges are dependent on experience

KEY Responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the “Act”) and the regulations, and Mott policies
  • Read orders and gather necessary parts to complete customer orders.
  • Read Mott drawings to determine customers’ requirements.
  • Perform pre-shift inspection.
  • Recognize the risk of machinery and follow safety protocol and procedures
  • Check parts to drawings for quality and quantity
  • Use appropriate fixtures and inspect product for quality
  • Fit parts together in the welding fixture as per drawing
  • Operate the welding robot in a safe and efficient manner
  • Edit an existing program or select the correct program on the robotic welder
  • Optimize welding programs to achieve best quality and efficiency
  • Create and maintain a file library of programs
  • Aid in design of new welding fixtures.
  • Tack weld products as required
  • Maintain and change consumable parts when required (e.g., welding wires and welding tips)
  • Inspect, verify quality and quantity of welded parts as per drawing
  • Identify and correct weld defects
  • Organize product to ensure efficient throughput for subsequent operations
  • Place welded parts on carts for coating
  • Maintain integrity of weld continuously through the process
  • Tack weld products as required
  • Clean up welds when needed
  • Maintain equipment
  • Perform housekeeping in the area
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to tac parts or MIG weld is an asset
  • Ability to read blueprints and data sheets
  • Ability to work with power hand tools effectively (i.e., grinder)
  • Must know how to use a tape measure
  • Must know how to metal finish cold rolled
  • Medium math skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Physically fit for heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs
