The Opportunity

We are currently looking for Journeyman Pipefitters to work in our SE Calgary Facility (8700 Venture Ave SE – not transit-accessible). This is a great opportunity to work on exciting mod yard projects, while getting to be home every night. Reporting to the Site Foreman, the role will entail:

Installing pipe

Working with cranes

Bolt-up

Laying out modules

Rigging pipe

Requirements

Journeyman Pipefitter

CSTS-09/2020 or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) ticket, or willingness to complete online prior to start

Knowledge of ANSI, ASME and PFI codes and standards, knowledge of the functional operation and purpose of the various piping system components, and knowledge of the various sizes and grades of standard materials employed in an industrial plant

Rigging/Overhead Crane operating experience is an asset

Module assembly experience is an asset

Proven commitment to safety

Knowledge of functional operation of various piping systems by measuring, cutting, threading, grinding and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings

Ability to read, interpret and determine dimensional information from drawings and specifications

Ability to measure accurately, lay out work, cut, bevel, thread and fit pipe

Material & fitting knowledge

Tack/welding experience

Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Excellent communication, attitude, collaborative skills and ability to follow directions

Working Conditions

Outside work in all temperatures

Physically demanding position; lifting up to 50lbs, working at heights, going on/off equipment and up/down ladder
