Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets drawings;

Welds structural steel components with stick, tig or mig spool gun;

Lays out parts for welding by Welder I and self;

Welds parts prepared by Fitter;

Verifies product conformance using blueprints and other means;

Calculates figures such as angles and areas;

Operates small hand tools, such as grinders, drills, and band saws;

Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding;

Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment;

Assembles parts by welding, bolting and riveting;

Repairs products by dismantling, cleaning, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts;

Operates forklift;

Ensures strict adherence to Company safety policies;

Other duties as assigned.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, project schedules and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read a tape measure.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee will stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and or feel more than 2/3 of the time. Employee must be able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Highly physical position requiring applicant to be in reasonably good physical condition.

Employee will be required to lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Employee must have the ability to lift from 50 to 100 pounds occassionally, using team lifting/equipment in a safe manner.

Employee will be required to use peripheral vision and depth perception regularly, must have the ability to adjust focus at all times.
