Overview
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols.
Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
Completes assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications.
Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets etc.
Operates manual flame-cutting equipment.
Adjusts welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.
Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis and/or when required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of work experience in the traderequired
Registered apprentice or Journeyman ticket required for welders. Ticket is an asset to have for fitters.
AIT Qualification Application accepted.
Ensures all required CWB qualifications are current.
Possesses solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
OTHERDETAILS
Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
Must have CSA approved safety boots.
Must supply basic hand tools.
Previous Overhead Crane experience or certification is an asset.
