Alstar Group of Companies Ltd. has been providing quality construction services to the oil and gas industry since 1969. Located in Calgary, with projects throughout Western Canada, we are a leader in the oil and gas industry for turn-key new construction, maintenance and prefabrication and modular construction services.
We are looking for contractors that are willing to operate an Alstar welding truck as opposed to your own.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Journeyman with extensive experience, preferably in O&G &/or construction
Experience in manual/semi-automatic welding and cutting equipment to assemble metal structures
Able to read, follow and interpret schematics/drawings and specifications
Experience working environments; shop, field or operating from welding truck
Experience guiding/mentoring apprentices
Safe operation of welding equipment; MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW
Safe operation of cutting equipment; OAW, Plasma
Experience completing reports
Excellent communication skills, attitude, collaborative skills, ability to follow directions and have attention to detail
Experience completing Field Level Hazard Assessment’s and will contribute to safety meetings
Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Proven safety attitude and excellent attendance history
Ability to work out of town for extended periods of time
MUST HAVE:
Red Seal/Journeyman Welder’s certificate
B Pressure welding ticket considered an asset
CWB – SMAW / FCAW – Four positions Ticket
Current – 5 Year Drivers’ Abstract, Valid Driver’s license
H2S Alive
Standard First Aid – Level C (2 Day Course)
CSTS-09
Confined Space (Considered an asset)
