Summary: Our Tack Up Welder welds short beads at points specified by layout, welding diagram, or by fitter along overlapping edges of metal parts to hold parts in place for final welding. Performs tasks of fitter helper. May also tack-weld, using hand, or gas-shielded arc welding equipment. May also tack-weld, using portable spotwelding gun.
Pay: $14-$19 – Depends On Experience

Duties & Responsibilities:
Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print
Determining appropriate welding equipment specific to applicable part
Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds
Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied and within tolerance
Understand equipment to determine flaws
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a 1G welding test
Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Acute attention to detail
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
