Role Description

THE POSITION:
The TGRM Blader-Welder is primarily focused on repairs to Steam and Gas Turbine components. The successful hire will be responsible for independently reading and interpreting blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine necessary equipment and control settings for SMAW, GTAW, and Plasma and SAW welding methods. Must be ability to remove and replace Steam turbine blades, both rotating and stationary including tenon peening, and shroud assembly. The successful hire must be able to restore Steam turbine diaphragms to blueprint dimensions and be able to obtain Welding Certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up, and operate Welding equipment for SAW, GTAW, SMAW, and Plasma method,

Set up, and operate “Portable welding equipment,

Restore stationary diaphragm vanes to blueprint;

Install and lock steam turbine blades, calculate pitch, roll and fit shroud, and peen blade tenons;

Operate machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions;

Use precision measuring tools such as OD and ID micrometers, dial Indicators, and dial calipers;

Perform dimensional inspection of various products;

Clean machine, tooling, and parts and perform equipment PM as assigned;

Heavy overnight travel (at least 70%) by land, and /or air;

Ability to gain access to nuclear facilities;

Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; or at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to make judgment decisions based on material specifications or technical requirements.

Computer Skills: Personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, etc.
