Overview

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Mine Welder will be responsible for the general maintenance and repairs to structures and components on heavy duty mining equipment fleet.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fabrications and product enhancements as required
  • Actively participate in safety activities
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and Preventative Maintenance service
  • Repair equipment in the field and shop atmosphere
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Clearly document reports detailing work performed and problems found

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Welding certification
  • Minimum “B” Level Red Seal certification required
  • Three plus years’ experience in mining preferred
  • Experience with heavy duty mining equipment is an asset
  • Proven safety and attendance record
  • Must have own tools
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is required
  • Willingness to work in adverse conditions
  • Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • This is a camp-based position with a schedule of 7 days’ working with 7 days’ rest, 12 hours per day/night
