Overview
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Mine Welder will be responsible for the general maintenance and repairs to structures and components on heavy duty mining equipment fleet.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fabrications and product enhancements as required
- Actively participate in safety activities
- Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and Preventative Maintenance service
- Repair equipment in the field and shop atmosphere
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Clearly document reports detailing work performed and problems found
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Welding certification
- Minimum “B” Level Red Seal certification required
- Three plus years’ experience in mining preferred
- Experience with heavy duty mining equipment is an asset
- Proven safety and attendance record
- Must have own tools
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds is required
- Willingness to work in adverse conditions
- Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision
WORK SCHEDULE:
- This is a camp-based position with a schedule of 7 days’ working with 7 days’ rest, 12 hours per day/night
