Job purpose

Cross Country Canada Supplies & Rentals Inc. is growing and is looking for an 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Welder to work in their fab shop. The successful candidate is responsible for performing tasks to support the welding crew and will possess a strong desire for career growth and never-ending learning on a wide and growing array of equipment and machinery.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Cutting and prepping for welding structural components
  • Analyzing blueprints and designs
  • Understand weld types, welding materials, tools, and equipment
  • Finding the right pieces of metal according to the design
  • Following all safety and health procedures to avoid accidents and hazards
  • Identifying issues and hazards
  • Operating angle grinders and other tools
  • Lining up specific metal components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces
  • Being a team player, helping other departments as needed
  • Work with journeyman and other tradesmen in fab shop
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years Industrial experiences, and Skid Steer certified is preferred
  • Preference will be given to FCAW/MCAW and CWB Ticketed candidates
  • Physically strength and endurance
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to details
  • Steady hands and good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to learn new things
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable to work independently and as a member of a team

Working conditions

  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Inside/outside temperatures fluctuate so appropriate layered outerwear should be considered when preparing for activity throughout the property, depending on the season
  • Travel may be necessary & Overtime and weekends may be required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
