Overview
The Welder I performs welding repairs and asset fabrication projects at both onsite and off-site locations. This position also assists maintenance personnel when required.
CORE RESONSIBILITITES
Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment when and where required.
Assist with weld repairs and asset fabrication on and off site.
Document repair and fabrication projects and track time in accordance with department procedures.
Comply with company safety policies.
Attend monthly, mandatory safety meetings.
Report immediately any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
Properly maintain equipment, including service trucks and trailers, safety equipment, and tools.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
At least six months of welding experience, including the use of arc, Mig and stick welders, plasma cutters and acetylene equipment or possession of a Welding Certification through an educational institution
Ability to execute basic welding techniques
Familiarity with shop equipment i.e. drill press, cranes, grinders and saws.
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status
Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety
Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
One-year welding experience
High school diploma or its equivalent
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Class C driver’s license
Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
