Who we are:

Bristol Machine Works Limited is an ISO 9001 certified welding and machine shop located in Sudbury, Ontario Canada. We service Sudbury. Northern Ontario and various customers worldwide. Our plants specialize in the manufacturing, fabrication, and repair of a large variety of medium to larger sized products, principally used in all aspects of the mining industry.

Bristol Machine Works Ltd is currently operating out of 3 shops in the Sudbury area.

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities and duties will vary with the welder’s developed areas of specialization
  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment
  • Precision welding operations
  • Disassembly/Assessment/Repair
  • Proper use of preheat and post heat
  • Base metal identification
  • Determination of optimal tooling
  • Selection of manual or semi-automatic welding, sub arc and burning tools
  • Selection of optimal welding amp and welding procedures and data sheets
  • Set up requirements may include jig or fixture design and fabrication and development of set-up documentation

What you need:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • 3-5 years welding experience in shop setting through on-the-job training or recognized welding training
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Secondary school graduate with grade 12 mathematics
  • Must have CWB flat & horizontal flux core and overhead SMAW stick welding tickets as a minimum

The performance of applicants will be measured against the responsibilities, duties and accountabilities outlined by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Welding trades guidelines, and the skills outlined in the attached job description.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $31.25-$31.75 per hour

  • North Bay, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:
