PermaCorp Group of Companies is an aluminum railings manufacturer in Edmonton, AB. We currently have opportunities for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our Welding team on our day and afternoon shift.

The Metal Fabricator/Welder is responsible for cutting and prepping aluminum parts to support the Welders. This position is best suited to very versatile people that know their way around equipment and most hand tools, can read metric and imperial tape measures, are self-starters with a can-do attitude. Must be physically fit, as the job requires many different areas to work in, and some require moving material.

Full-time day and afternoon shift position five days a week, eight hours each shift with overtime available. Overtime available as needed

Key Competencies

  • Attention to detail and good hand eye coordination is key.
  • Physically fit; able to handle weights up to 23 kgs (50 lbs), standing for extended periods.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Document use and numeracy
  • Strong team working skills
  • Reliable and honest

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a Team and individually with initiative
  • Ability to work safely and maintain a safe working environment
  • Read shop drawings accurately to produce material according to specifications
  • Work with various materials, but mainly aluminum
  • Operate a welding machine, pipe bending machine, a shear, Saw Perform inspections on finished products to ensure products produced meet quality standards
  • Lift Aluminum Railings, panels up to 35lbs.

Requirements

  • Show interest and willingly strive to learn new skills, take on new assignments as the workload dictates
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, fabricate and weld
  • Experience working with a bending machine, metal fabrication will be an asset
  • Experience working with aluminum rail fabrication, metal or flashing
  • Experience using various hand tools (drills, grinders, etc)
  • Able to measure accurately in metric
