The Welder Craftsperson will display:

What types of work will this role perform?
Carrying out welding using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW to manufacture piping system, structural components, and other various items on a wide range of materials using the given welding procedure.
Cut piping and other materials specified to fabricate required pieces using oxy-fuel or plasma arc cutting system.
Following engineered isometric drawings, instructions, and what materials to be used.
Knowledge in how to obtain cut lengths for piping in the fabrication process.
Work in furnaces and other close quartered spaces and be able to make a quality Weld.
Use of fabrication shop machinery, welding equipment and tools.
Familiarity with safety practices and techniques relating to the chemical industry. (ex. LOTO, Confined Spaces, Hot Work, etc.)
Other tasks/duties as needed.

What Requirements Are Needed?
Minimum 5 years welding experience in the Petro-chemical industry.
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and callouts to respond to emergencies when required.
Be able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 50 Lbs. from ground to waist level.
Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Willing to comply with Shell’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Willing to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment.
A condition of employment for this position is the successful completion of a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, background check, driving record check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future without requiring sponsorship.
Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
