SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY, Our Company is looking for someone who has demonstrated interest in this specific trade/industry. Have you taken manufacturing or machine shop in Secondary School? Are you or are you willing and wanting to go to college for machining and manufacturing techniques?

The job would start at around $18 per hour, and if things go well after the first 9 months we’d be looking at a wage (upwards to) about $20. After 24 months of great successes your wage will climb to around $23, 3 years $25. Once considered a “Journeyman” in this trade the wage expectation would be $27-$30 (4-5 years).

DPM is seeking seeking to train an individual into a skilled manual machinist. The person fulfilling this position will gain exposure to various aspects of manufacturing and fabrication. Anything from saw operation and MIG welding, to vertical milling, drill press and radial arm drill operation, lathe, surface grinding, hand drilling and tapping. Essentially all aspects of subtractive metal machining and manufacturing, with PRECISION accuracy. As a fixture and gauge Company, we have to hold tolerancing to finite dimensions. This is not basic machining techniques, we want someone to learn highly skilled machining techniques from Ontario Red Seal Tool and Die Makers. This person needs to be motivated to work and learn, can stay on task, and is willing to do anything asked in and around the machine shop.

After determining fit for the role after probationary period, Registered Ontario Apprenticeship in Toolmaking / General Machining and pay increases would result.

Hours per week are estimated at 35-42, sometimes 45 pending industry demand. We typically work full days Monday to Thursday, and half-days on Friday which means every weekend is 2.5 days long! We do not work weekends. Great in the summer time. This is a work-life balance benefit for being a member of our team.
