Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Welder is involved in the joining of pipe, steel, beams, vessels, and other metal components. This work may exist indoors or outdoors and may be physically demanding. We are looking for an Employee or Direct Service Provider.

Anticipated Start Date: 2023-04-06

Location: Kitimat, BC

Shift: 14&7

Travel: Flights are provided from Edmonton, AB and Calgary, AB

Accommodations: Camp provided

Hourly Base Rates:
Employee: $47.07

Direct Service Provider: $59.64

Project Incentive: $85/Day

NBG Specialty Welding Premium: $12.75/Hour (upon successful completion of NBG Weld)

JOB DUTIES

Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards

Read and interpret blue prints to determine requirements of the job

Join or sever metals in beams, vessels, piping, and other metal components

Utilize different processes and fillers depending on the Client requirements

Clean and check weld for defects

Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings

May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be an Alberta registered journeyman (or hold a journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)

Alberta B-Pressure Certificate

CSTS-09 or CSTS-20

WHMIS

ESC/OSSA Fall Protection

ESC/OSSA Confined Space

GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) experience required

SS welding experience required (SS ticket preferred)

Lincoln STT/Miller RMD experience preferred

Able to work well in a team environment

Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field

Organized and self-motivated
