Welder – Lead Hand

Express Employment Professionals in Cambridge is currently recruiting for a Waterloo based company looking to add a versatile Lead Hand Welder with fabrication and fitting experience to their team. This direct hire position is full time hours on a straight day shift and requires a candidate that can fabricate custom work and lead a small shop environment with minimal supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum 10 years’ experience with MIG welding, fabrication and fitting of custom parts, excellent work ethic and will be looking for a long term permanent opportunity.

Job Duties

· MIG welding, fitting and fabrication of parts

· Some TIG welding occasionally

· Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures

· Use brake press and plasma machines as well as hand and power tools for cutting and bending

· Able to spray paint parts

· Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

· Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

· Able to travel to client sites for quoting and installations using company vehicle

· Maintaining a clean and safe work area

· Other general duties as required

Qualifications:

· Must have minimum 10 years’ previous experience MIG welding including fabrication and fitting

· Some TIG experience is preferred

· CWB tickets are not required but considered an asset

· Must be able to make custom parts consistently

· Clean driver’s abstract and full “G” license

· Dependable and reliable

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs

· Aptitude in using various welding, machining, hand and power tools

· Have excellent attention to detail

Pay Rate

$25.00 to $30.00 Per Hour based on experience

Shift Times – Straight Shift, No Rotation

Days: Monday to Friday – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM – (OT After 44 Hours)
